2026 FIFA World Cup Qualification
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will mark the 23rd edition of this prestigious tournament. It is the international men’s soccer championship held every four years, featuring national teams from FIFA’s member associations. The event is scheduled to occur from June 11 to July 19, 2026. Argentina, having secured its third title in 2022, will enter as the defending champion.
Sixteen cities from three nations in North America are co-hosting the tournament. The primary host for the matches will be the United States, with Canada and Mexico serving as secondary hosts. This will be the first time that three countries come together to host the World Cup.
This edition will also see an increase in the number of participating teams. That is, expanding from 32 to 48. Chiefly, the United 2026 bid triumphed over Morocco’s proposal during the final vote at the 68th FIFA Congress held in Moscow. Consequently, it is the first World Cup since 2002 hosted by multiple nations.
